With the increase in spiritual awakening, more and more people are experiencing a Kundalini Awakening . It often occurs after a period of spiritual contemplation through meditation or other spiritual practices .
In effect, it is the sudden awakening of spiritual energy within the psyche . Its intention is to burn away our ego belief system and return us to our ‘right’ mind . However, it tends to strike like a bolt out of the blue and your once stable and contented life is thrown into disarray . Its main effect is felt in the body as everything is intensified to the nth degree – emotions are raised which causes the body to react .
Below are some of the effects of Kundalini :
Muscle twitches, cramps or spasms.
Energy rushes or immense electricity circulating the body .
Itching, vibrating, prickling, tingling, stinging or crawling sensations .
Intense heat or cold .
Involuntary bodily movements (occur more often during meditation, rest or sleep): jerking, tremors, shaking; feeling an inner force pushing one into postures or moving one’s body in unusual ways.
Alterations in eating and sleeping patterns .
Episodes of extreme hyperactivity or, conversely, overwhelming fatigue .
Intensified or diminished sexual desires .
Headaches, pressures within the skull .
Racing heartbeat, pains in the chest .
Digestive system problems .
Numbness or pain in the limbs (particularly the left foot and leg) .
Pains and blockages anywhere; often in the back and neck (Many cases of FMS are Kundalini-related.)
Emotional outbursts; rapid mood shifts; seemingly unprovoked or excessive episodes of grief, fear, rage, depression .
In my opinion, these symptoms were always there but because of our disassociation from our deeper Self, prior to Kundalini rising, we were unaware of them . It is like a tractor beam which is suddenly shone on the psyche and wherever we turn, the light still shines .
From my own experience, it is not easy to say the least, due to the dual effects on the physical body and the emotions as this spiritual light brings up all the detritus to the surface .
The way through Kundalini is Acceptance . Acceptance of the physical syptoms and emotions you experience and the Life changes which will inevitably occur . Its goal is to end the imagined separation from God / All There Is / Universe by burning away the blocks within our psyche and hopefully, at thend of the journey return to our true spiritual Self .
